We hold two Spring steer wrestling schools annually, in April at the ranch in Long Valley, South Dakota.   We also schedule individual instructions at your request.  Our schools cover all aspects of steer wrestling with emphasis on the basics, feet positioning, the proper way to catch the steers, and bending your knee correctly.  We believe in lots of ground work.  Our format has been successful as we begin with sliding the steer saver, move on to chute doggin' and finish the day with actually jumping steers from horseback.  We give you horsemanship pointers and help you with your own horse to make your day complete.  We encourage beginners to attend our schools as well as the more advance steer wrestlers, helping you in whichever aspect of the event you need the most help in.  Our students compliment us on the positive environment and how they look forward to returning the next year.

Students in the Winner's Circle...   John Diedrichs of Rapid City, SD formally of Platteville, WI   is the 2003 Champion Steerwrestler at the PRCA Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. We're proud of you Dietz!   Another past champion from our schools is Jonathon Ragatz, Rapid City, SD formally of Cassville, WI.  Johnny was the 1996 and 1999 Wisconsin High School Rodeo Assoc. Champion Steerwrestler and also the 2001 and 2002 NIRA Great Plains Region Champion Steerwrestler!  Among these and many other accomplishments, he also placed 2nd this year at the 2005 Calgary Stampede $50,000 Chuteout.  Way to go Johnny!! Ricky Myhre fast time record holder at Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo 5.2 seconds in the Steer Wrestling. Brent Dolezal of Killdeer, ND was the 2000, 2001 and 2002 ND High School Rodeo Assoc. Champion Steer Wrestler.   Matt Graney of Lancaster, WI was the 1995 Wisconsin High School Rodeo Assoc.  Champion Steerwrestler and went on to place 2nd at the National High School Rodeo Assoc. Finals in Shawnee, OK.   Rob Reid of Chadron, NE formally from Hazel Green, WI  was the 1994 Wisconsin High School Rodeo Assoc. Champion Steerwrestler!!   Justin Steinke of Colombe, SD was 2001 SD State 4-H Champion Steerwrestler!!   Tate Thompson,  Wanblee SD is the 2004 SDHSRA Champion Steer Wrestler!!  Tate is also 2006 and 2007 Big Sky College Region Champion Steer Wrestler!!
